The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department and the Greenbelt team are proud to present an inspiring new plan for a small organic farm, education center, and concessions experience in the heart of Phoenix: The Farm at Los Olivos. This new farm-to-table project will help build a healthier community and will create positive impacts for generations, all while reimagining additional activities for a vibrant community park.
The Farm at Los Olivos has been approved by the Parks Board!
Organic Gardens
Growing food and meeting around the table to enjoy the harvest is the foundation of building community. The Farm at Los Olivos is founded on a long-term partnership between the City of Phoenix and the Greenbelt team. The goal is to create an incredible new amenity on a small portion of this wonderful park. The project is the culmination of generations of agricultural and hospitality knowledge and advocacy. By establishing a two acre organic farm in an urban park with a focus on hospitality and education, we can create a healthier community for generations to come.
Art + Education Center
The agricultural setting of The Farm at Los Olivos will provide the ideal space for a 2,500-square-foot indoor/outdoor Education Center, which will offer ongoing programs for visitors, schools, senior centers, nearby residents, and more. All programming will be taught on-site in the education facility. In addition to the traditional classroom setting, The Farm at Los Olivos will offer hands-on activities like gardening and cooking classes that encourage learning by doing.
Healthy + Delicious
Concessions
Adjacent to The Farm at Los Olivos’ Education Center will be a place to gather and feast upon all the delicious food the farm produces. By reimagining park concessions and amenities, the Greenbelt team has developed an exciting plan for a healthy, delicious, and affordable farm to table experience.
The site will offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as a farm stand to buy the farm's fresh produce and canned goods. From coffee and pastries in the morning, to a nice dinner with the family at night, the Farm at Los Olivos will be an ideal place for guests to fill a picnic basket on the way to explore the farm and this amazing park's 27 acres in the heart of Phoenix.
Produce Stand
Its as simple as it sounds, the Farm at Los Olivos will have a produce stand where neighbors and visitors to the City Park can see and purchase the wonderful bounty from the on site organic gardens.
Welcome to the Farm at Los Olivos
Together, all of these elements will create positive economic, fiscal, and cultural benefits for the City of Phoenix, as well as a host of other community and educational benefits for residents and visitors.
